How Integrated Pest Management Works

At Earthwise Pest Management, we are a locally owned pest control company dedicated to helping you enjoy a pest-free home. We do this by utilizing our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) process. This three-step program allows us to successfully remove any current infestations and prevent future ones, all while minimizing our use of pesticides. This incredibly effective pest control process is ideal for both residential and commercial spaces and is designed to provide long-lasting results.

Our Three-Step Process

At Earthwise Pest Management, we conduct our three-step IPM process each and every time we visit your property for optimal pest removal and prevention. Each step is essential to the success of both the eradication of the pests you’re dealing with as well as the prevention of future infestations.

Step One: Detailed Inspection

We always begin our IPM process by conducting a detailed inspection of your property and the pest infestation. This step allows us to understand how the pests entered your property, where they are finding food and water, and why they found your home hospitable enough to live there. We will also ask questions during this step to learn what you have experienced so far. Where you’ve seen the pests, if they’ve done any damage, and any preventative measures you have implemented.

Step Two: Pest Identification and Strategy

After we have performed our detailed inspection of your property, we begin the process of pest identification. This entails not only identifying the exact species of the pest at hand, but also how large and mature the infestation is. Different pests, or even just different species of the same pest, require different removal and preventative methods, so this step is essential for us to be successful. Additionally, a small new infestation will be treated differently than a mature one that may have spread through different areas of your home.

Step Three: Implementing the Treatment

Once we have all of the information we need from the two previous steps, we can create and implement a personalized pest treatment plan. During this step, we will remove the pests from your home and begin working on how we can prevent future infestations. It’s not enough to just kill off the pests. If the conditions that attracted them are still there, you’ll likely just end up with another infestation. That’s why we work one-on-one with our customers to determine a plan of action to keep pests out of your home for good. We’ll also provide you with suggestions on how to remove food and water sources, potential entry points, and more.

Follow Up Preventative Visits

After we’ve performed the three steps of our IPM process, we always recommend a follow-up visit. During each visit, we’ll perform the three steps of our IPM process over again as is necessary. This will allow us to ensure that your home remains pest-free and that we are doing everything within our power to keep it that way.

The Benefits of IPM

IPM is extremely effective at removing and preventing pests. It also allows us to minimize our use of pesticides, which makes it better for you, your family, and the environment. IPM is a safe, long-term solution to pest control so that you can rest assured that your home is pest-free.
